VA Medical Travel Reimbursement

VA may reimburse 41.5¢ per mile for approved health-related travel — including other authorized transportation expenses.

Program Overview

The VA Beneficiary Travel program reimburses eligible veterans for the cost of traveling to and from VA health care appointments. The current mileage rate is 41.5¢ per mile, and reimbursement can also cover tolls, parking, and public transportation. A deductible applies unless it is waived based on financial hardship or a service-connected disability status.

How to Apply
